How to Spend THREE days in Ibiza, Spain: The Best 3-Day Itinerary

As repeat visitors to this gorgeous island, we know exactly how to spend your three-day getaway without missing a beat—from the minute you wake up to the time you call it a night. So whether you’re a history buff and want the story behind Ibiza Town, ready to try a new water sport, or simply looking to unwind on a quiet beach, we’ve got you covered from day one.

Itinerary Overview 

When you hear the word Ibiza, wild parties and nonstop dancing are probably the first things that come to mind. And while that side of Ibiza is real, the island has so much more to offer beyond the nightlife. From high-end restaurants and UNESCO World Heritage sites to buzzing markets filled with local crafts and traditional specialties, in Ibiza you can quickly move from glitz and glam to ancient walls, rural landscapes, and peaceful Zen retreats.

The best way to get around the island is to rent a car, scooter, or motorbike, which are quite affordable. We loved having our own car because it allowed us to explore more remote corners of the island and do whatever we wanted at our own pace. If you choose not to rent a car, public buses are available and quite reliable, and that includes the famous Discobus during the summer months. 

While Ibiza has a big party scene, we designed this itinerary to be relaxed and flexible, so you’ll have countless options depending on your travel style. For this trip, we are based in Ibiza Town, where most key sites are within a short walking distance. We paid attention to the little details so you don’t miss a thing! 

Day 1: Start your morning wandering the cobblestone streets of Dalt Vila, soaking up over 2,500 years of history, then refuel at a cozy café before a relaxed beach afternoon with drinks and golden-hour views. End the day eating your way around the island on a lively, flavor-packed food tour.

Day 2: Now that you’ve found your way around (or maybe not just yet), kick off the morning with an energizing breakfast at one of the nearby cafés before joining a beach-hopping cruise or opting for a private full-day sailing trip to Formentera instead. Wrap up the day with a romantic dinner at one of the island’s hotspots—you’ll thank us later. 

Day 3: Make your last day count with an ATV adventure around the island, refuel with a relaxed local lunch, then choose your own afternoon adventure—beach time, parasailing, or a scenic hike. End with sunset at Cala Comte, a laid-back seafood dinner, and one last night out in Ibiza.

Day 1

Morning – Explore Dalt Vila (Ibiza Old Town)

Start your morning in Dalt Vila (Ibiza Old Town), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and fortified city that has stood the test of time for over 2,500 years! Since you don’t have any time restraints until this evening, your morning can be as flexible as you’d like, but plan to spend 2–3 hours exploring this Ibiza highlight. We loved wandering through its cobbled, narrow alleyways (good thing we had our comfy shoes on) and soaking up the atmosphere. You’ll also find artisan shops, welcoming diners, and cozy cafés where it’s easy to lose track of time. 

While you’re here, make your way to the Castle of Ibiza and walk along the fortified walls, two of the area’s major sites. As you enter the old town, pass through the charming Portal de Ses Taules, the iconic gateway that makes for a fun photo backdrop. If, like us, you love collecting stories along the way, there are plenty of fascinating historic corners tucked throughout the city.

And if time allows, consider stopping by the Museu d’Art Contemporani d’Eivissa or the Puget Museum, which are must-sees whether you’re a museum lover or just looking for a unique experience. Before heading out, visit Santa María Cathedral, then swing by S’Escalinata, the popular street where tapas, sangria, and laughter never stop flowing—yes, even in the morning.

Brunch – Nude Café Ibiza 

A little bit of food makes everything better, especially after a morning of wandering like a true tourist. As you’re exploring Old Town, stop at Nude Café Ibiza for brunch! They offer delicious meals that will satisfy even the pickiest eaters, and it quickly became our favorite spot. Just keep in mind they’re closed on Sundays, so make sure to plan ahead!

Kickstart your day with a smoothie or a nutrient-packed bowl while people-watching. The bright and welcoming café serves tostadas, wraps, and even its own vegan version of traditional Spanish pintxos (bite-sized treats served on skewers or toothpicks). Best of all, there are plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, so it’s the perfect way to start fueling your day!

Afternoon – Hit the beach

Now is your time to relax and dip your tired feet in the sand or float in the sea. Ibiza has a legendary beach scene, so obviously, some dedicated beach time is essential. If you rented a car (or scooter or motor), it’s easy to get to these beaches. The public buses are also very good, though slower. Plan on spending a few hours here before heading back to your hotel to freshen up and meet your evening tour by 6 pm. Here’s a list of the best beaches in Ibiza:

• Cala Comte (or Cala Conta) – This is the most popular beach on the island, due to its turquoise water and fine, soft sand. We—and most visitors—come here to swim, snorkel, and taste all sorts of seafood specialties in the local restaurants. It can get really busy, but believe it or not, it’s not a chaotic party scene. 

• Cala Saladeta – This beach is secluded and small, but that doesn’t mean it’s not popular. It has some of the clearest water on the island and a more peaceful vibe than its sister beach, Cala Salada. There are two ways to get here: hike across a rocky terrain or rent a boat if you prefer convenience. Guess which way we chose? Hiking, of course!

• Cala d’Hort – For dramatic backdrops and gorgeous sunsets, this relaxed, pebbly beach hits the spot. The views of the rocky islet Es Vedrà only add to the natural beach charm. And with numerous renowned restaurants serving the catch of the day, we’re sure you’ll love it here.

• Playa d’en Bossa – If you want to party, this is the place to be. Think beach bars, DJ parties, and endless stretches of soft sand—yes, this resort area ticks all the boxes. It’s home to the famous club Ushuaia, and it’s the longest beach on Ibiza, stretching 2 km.  

• Playa de Talamanca – Families with young children will love this long, tranquil beach with shallow waters, just a short walk from Ibiza Town. It’s perfect for anyone who doesn’t want to travel far. With no towering hotels blocking the view, it’s an ideal place to spend a relaxing day by the sea.

• Cala Olivera – If you want to escape the crowds, head to Cala Olivera. We found this beach to be more low-key and somewhat off the beaten path, but still really accessible from Ibiza Town. It’s a bit rocky, but that won’t stop you from enjoying this hidden piece of heaven on the island.

Evening – Taste your way around Ibiza Town 

After a long afternoon of swimming and lounging under the Spanish sun, you’ll definitely be hungry (we sure were). Head back to your hotel, freshen up, and switch into evening mode because this food and culture tour in Ibiza Town is about to steal the show.

This small-group experience starts at 6 pm in Ibiza Town and wraps up around 9 pm, giving you three delicious hours to eat, sip, and explore—with plenty of time afterward to hit the clubs and dance off all the food we enjoyed (a little too much). We met our group near Pacha Shop, then set off on foot through Ibiza Town, stopping at a mix of carefully selected spots—from historic local institutions to Michelin-quality tapas restaurants and tucked-away food halls most visitors would never find on their own.

Along the way, we sampled traditional tapas, locally sourced specialties, cured Ibizan sobrasada sausage, handmade ice cream, and a variety of drinks. It wasn’t just small bites either—by the final stop, we were very full and very happy. As we walked between venues, our guide, Christina, shared stories about the chefs, the history of the island, and the food culture that makes Ibiza so unique.

By the time 9 pm rolled around, we weren’t ready for it to end. Luckily, our last stop was in the heart of buzzing Dalt Vila, where the atmosphere easily convinced us to stay!

This tour was the highlight of our first day on the island. If you’re looking for an intimate, flavor-packed night that blends food, history, and local insight, this is the one to book.

Night – Party or relax 

Ibiza has a world-famous nightlife scene, so if that’s on your bucket list, now is the time to check it off! Pacha, Hï Ibiza, and Ushuaia are the most popular (some have been voted as the best clubs in the world).

For a more relaxed vibe and a romantic time, head down to La Marina for a candlelit ambiance and high-quality cocktails. We also recommend one of the rooftop bars at the San Antonio Sunset Strip, where you can dance freely, without stepping on anyone’s toes.

If this isn’t your vibe, no worries! You can still enjoy just strolling the charming streets of Ibiza Town, or head back to your hotel for a relaxing evening. Tomorrow is a new day!

Day 2 

Breakfast – The Red Cafe 

Rise and shine! It’s time for another adventure, and this one won’t be starting until 11, so you can reminisce over a delicious breakfast before joining your group for a full-day beach-hopping cruise. Yes, you heard that right—beach-hopping. 

The meeting point for this morning’s tour is in Sant Antoni de Portmany, which is about a 30-minute car ride or 1 hour via bus from Dalt Vila. Again, having a car makes planning your day a lot easier. For those coming by car, the most convenient parking spot is in front of LIDL. 

If you’re early birds like us, this gives you plenty of time to grab breakfast at The Red Cafe (opens at 8.30 am), just a short walk from the meeting point. It’s located on the lower level of the Red Hotel and couldn’t be more convenient.

The menu has everything you could want before a full day on the water—hearty English breakfasts, fluffy American pancakes, avocado toast, yogurt bowls topped with blueberries, muesli, and honey, and even a breakfast buffet. The food is fresh, filling, and exactly what you need before a beach-hopping cruise.

Arriving early also gives you time to stroll around Sant Antoni or swap stories about last night over coffee without feeling rushed before the 11 am departure.

Full day – Relax on a beach-hopping cruise

You can’t say you’ve truly seen Ibiza if you haven’t signed up for this all-inclusive beach-hopping tour. It’s what the island is all about – the beaches, the parties, and the unforgettable summer romance. And don’t worry, there is some quiet time in between (trust us, we surely needed it).

We booked the 11 am option, which wrapped up around 5 pm, but you can also choose the sunset cruise if you’re after extra romance and those gorgeous Ibiza sunsets. This was hands down one of the best tours we booked in Ibiza, for all the obvious reasons: fresh local food, free-flowing drinks, two beach stops (Cala Comte and Cala Bassa), water activities, and just plain fun on a boat.

The catamaran itself was a highlight, with a glass bottom and two slides, which many kids and adults found pretty entertaining. When we were not snorkeling, we were stretched out on the deck or the beach, working on our tan. But the more adventurous guests tried kayaking and paddleboarding. If you’ve never been on one, don’t worry. You will feel safe with the lifeguards always keeping an eye on you. 

We’d recommend this tour to anyone—families with kids of any age, couples, or groups of friends. The crew was incredibly friendly and made every moment enjoyable. And if you’re a picky eater, you can even bring your own food and drinks on board.

We loved every minute of it, and judging by the glowing reviews, we’re not the only ones. It was definitely worth our time and money!

Alternate Option 

If sailing is more your vibe and you’re traveling with a group of friends, this fantastic private full-day sailing tour takes your Ibiza experience to a whole new level. Your guide is a family who lives on board, making the tour feel authentic and extra special. This is an 8-hour trip with multiple start times, so you can plan your departure around when you’d like to be back for dinner.

You’ll hop on a private boat that goes to Formentera, a small island and a popular day-trip destination in summer. As you sail across and explore the stunning Ibiza coastline, you’ll make plenty of stops for both fun and relaxation. At one stop, you’ll drop anchor for a refreshing swim; at another, you’ll dock at a breathtaking beach where you can enjoy lunch and discover hidden gems.

Snorkeling in turquoise waters and paddleboarding are included in the package, along with spectacular sunsets. It’s the perfect chance to discover a slice of paradise on Earth!

Dinner – Callas Ibiza Restaurante

There’s no better way to end a lovely day than with a laid-back dinner, and we found the perfect spot for it. After finishing our boat tour, we went back to our hotel to freshen up and then made our way to Callas Ibiza Restaurante in Dalt Vila. 

Ibiza makes Italian food feel like a whole new experience, and this welcoming spot is living proof. The family of this restaurant prepares their grandmother’s recipes from scratch. We tried their famous ravioli ossobuco and nonna’s ravioli, alongside Spanish tapas, and finished with a delicious homemade dessert, the kiwi cream with chia seeds and berries. Sure, you’ll find hamburgers, pizzas, and sandwiches, but the real joy of traveling is embracing something new. And if you’re anything like us, you’ll make it a tradition everywhere you go.

The restaurant is located in a pedestrian zone, so we had to walk, but it was easy to find. It’s a popular place and almost always busy, but with our reservation, we were well taken care of. The best time to be here is around 8 or 8:30 pm, so plan in advance.

Day 3 

Morning – Explore Ibiza on an ATV 

By day 3, there’s a good chance you’re ready to escape the crowds. We picked the perfect tour to help you get away from the noise and bring you closer to nature. With this 2.5-hour pure adrenaline-pumping quad bike excursion, it’s you vs. the scenic roads, which, for us, was a fantastic way to kick off the morning.

We recommend booking the 10 am tour, which wraps up around 12:30 pm, leaving you plenty of time for other adventures on your last day. Plus, the meeting and drop-off point are conveniently just a 15-minute drive from Dalt Vila.

You’ll cruise through the scenic countryside on a four-wheeler, racing along exhilarating dirt pathways that push your excitement levels to the limit. Along the way, you’ll uncover hidden gems you’d likely never find on your own, with your guide sharing fun local stories and insider tidbits at each stop. As you zoom past mountain roads, fishing villages, rustic countryside, and the glimmering coast, it starts to feel less like a tour and more like your own action movie set in Ibiza.

And don’t worry if this is your first time on a quad bike, they are surprisingly easy to handle. Just bring your driving license and adventurous spirit, and you’re set. We’d also recommend covering your mouth and wearing goggles to keep dirt at bay.

Towards the end, you’ll ride along the coast for a beach stop and a refreshing swim—a fantastic way to wrap up the unforgettable experience. It’s easy to see why this tour consistently earns glowing five-star reviews!

Lunch – PUNTO Muntaner 12

After your ATV tour, stop by Punto Muntaner 12 around 1 pm for a well-earned, relaxed lunch. This cozy spot has a true local vibe, serving fresh, locally sourced dishes with Spanish, Italian, and Mediterranean flair. We loved the avocado salmon salad and the playful “spaghetti Barbie”—yes, it’s pink—topped with red shrimp tartare, pistachio pesto, and a hint of orange.

It’s popular with locals but steadily getting noticed by visitors, and it still feels wonderfully authentic. The owner, Paolo, greets everyone with a smile, and if you’re lucky, you might even watch tiramisu being made right in front of you.

Prices are refreshingly reasonable for Ibiza, and it’s the kind of place where you come to refuel… and end up staying a little longer than planned.

Afternoon – Your choice! 

Since it’s your last afternoon, you get to choose what you do! We have several suggestions that we thoroughly enjoyed, so whichever you pick, you can be sure you won’t go wrong. 

Relax on the beach

If you haven’t yet been to Playa de Talamanca, now is the perfect time. The sheltered bay, shallow waters, and short distance from Ibiza Town are just some of the reasons to spend your afternoon here. Not to mention the restaurants lining the shore, the smell of fresh food drifting through the air, and the added convenience of a safe with every umbrella to keep your belongings secure. For us, it was a pleasant and convenient stop near Ibiza Town.

Go Parasailing 

For more heart-pounding adventures, we recommend this breathtaking parasailing flight. If you’re eager to try everything and squeeze in as many unforgettable experiences as possible, this one could quite possibly be the highlight of your trip. Make sure to add the HD video with a GoPro option for a lasting memory of your time on the island.  

It’s best to book this experience for 3 or 4:30 pm. You’ll meet the crew near Marina de Santa Eulalia, which is about a 20-minute drive or a 1-hour bus ride from Dalt Vila. 

Enjoy a guided hike

Your last afternoon on the island could end with this enjoyable 2-hour guided hike that takes you off the beaten path. You get to explore raw Ibiza, from top photo locations to secret coves and dramatic coastal cliffs that will take your breath away. You can also book this for the morning and an ATV in the afternoon if you’d prefer. This has multiple start times from 7 am until 5 pm, so choose what works for you. 

Sunset – Cala Comte 

Catching the sunset in Ibiza is a must for your last day! Cala Comte is one of the most popular sunset destinations for a reason—it’s insanely pretty, with gorgeous views of the row of islets as the sun sinks into the horizon.

We knew this beach was busy during the day, but we weren’t surprised to see crowds gathering just to capture some of the island’s most spectacular sunsets.

Arrive early to secure the perfect spot, or book seats at one of the many restaurants along the beach to enjoy a relaxed evening with cocktails and good company. Even better, grab refreshing drinks to go and stretch out on the front‑row loungers, just like we did. Make sure your phone battery is charged for this photo op, as you’ll want to snap a shot from every angle.

Dinner – Fish Shack

After the awe-inspiring sunset, make your way back toward Ibiza Town for dinner at Fish Shack, a well-loved local spot near Talamanca. You’d better bring your appetite, because this place will fill your belly with delicious food, from grilled amberjack to juicy lamb chops, and fresh sides like potato salad and cherry tomatoes, all paired with a house wine bottle of your preference. Their seafood menu depends on the catch of the day!

This is a well-loved, casual dinner spot on a rocky beach, so you don’t even bother putting your fancy shoes on. Located near Talamanca, the inviting shack with plastic chairs gives you a true local vibe, and you’ll be happy to have discovered another hidden gem. It’s a first-come, first-served policy, so head there right after sunset to secure a spot. 

Evening – Party or relax

There are a few ways to crown your final night on the party island. Go clubbing or have a relaxing night out in Old Town. If you’re up for a party, make your way to Ushuaïa Ibiza, one of the best outdoor clubs in the world. The electrifying atmosphere here is second to none, and you’re likely to catch a superstar DJ or another famous guest artist. 

If you’re not after a clubbing experience, you can enjoy a relaxed cocktail at S’Escalinata and take one last stroll through Old Town to wrap up the night. No matter which you pick, it’s the perfect farewell to your island getaway.

The rooms are spacious and bright with kitchenettes and balconies, and there’s also a rooftop pool with sea views—perfect for a laid-back afternoon in the sun. It’s a solid mid-range option that blends comfort, location, and value really well.

Budget – $

Hostal Juanita is a charming and budget-friendly stay right in the heart of Ibiza Town. It’s simple but stylish, with whitewashed walls, pops of color, and a breezy rooftop terrace where you can soak up the views. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable—perfect for travelers who plan to spend more time exploring than lounging in a hotel. The location is unbeatable, just steps from the Old Town, restaurants, and ferry terminal, making it easy to get around.
